I really hate when the good prices you hear on commercials or read in ads for mobile phones are after big mail-in rebates are applied. It takes forever to get the rebate money back and many of us end up forgetting to send the rebates in anyway.

Best Buy Mobile cuts through the mail-in rebate crap and just gives you the discount price up front. The company has announced a deal on the HTC DROID Eris that is running through December 26. You can get the handset for free with a new contract if you are a Reward Zone Silver member.

Reward Zone base members will have to cough up $49 for the handset with a new 2-year contract. The MSRP for the handset is $99. This will be a good way for users needing a new device to get one, though you might have to join the reward Zone to get it.
