VIA has updated their line of Nano processors with new Nano 3000 chips that will boast a 64-bit architecture, differing in speeds ranging from 1GHz to 2GHz. Regardless of their clock speed, all of them can handle 1080p HD video playback with aplomb, and can outperform its predecessors by over 20% in PCMark 05 and 3Dmark 2006 benchmarks. These new processors will play nice with older VIA sockets, so if you’re rocking to motherboards that can handle VIA C7, C7-M, Eden and earlier Nano processors, you won’t

Material that hardens and softens depending on the situation is always cool, after all, we fairly sure some of you want to make your own Iron Man costume sometime in the near future. A team of researchers at Japan’s Yamagata University have come up with a substance, a mix between high polymer and iron oxide granules, that when subjected to a magnetic field that is 300 milli-tesla strong, will harden 300-fold in under one second become up to 500 times stiffer than plastic. Science is really cool, don’t you think?

These guys win any and all costume contests hands down. That’s because Reko Rivera and John Savio created these awesome costumes using a real 42″ LCD TV. The TV’s are connected to their iPhones which are docked just above the TV.

It will show whatever the iPhone display shows. It’s absolutely brilliant. But it must be hard wearing those televisions, which weigh 85 pounds each. Then there’s the weight of the batteries to power them and the wires and iPhone.

Hats off to you guys. Check out the

FaceID combines home security systems with facial recognition. It will likely take over from the usual password, swipe card, retina and fingerprint scanning systems that we already use. It isn’t just a concept either.

FaceID is available right now and looks cool enough for any front door. It uses two digital cameras to create a 3D image of your face. Your face model is stored and matched with whoever stands in front of the system so it can decide whether to let you in or not.

It works in the dark too and will only cost you $447.
